The second paragraph should be a summary of your skills, specifically written in the same order in which you find them in the job posting. That is, if they are looking for a Ruby developer who knows PostgreSQL and Rails, try not to mention “Ruby on Rails” and instead talk about your skills in the same order they’ve been listed above. Showcase any project work (especially open-source work) that is most relevant to the job post or company. Bonus points if my company has an API, library or tool that you’ve built into your projects.
